Graffiti-Artist-Gone-Sculptor: “Sirens of the Lambs” by Banksy

If you haven’t heard already, the world-renowned still-anonymous graffiti badass known as Banksy is roaming the streets of New York City. And he’s not limiting himself to spray paint this time around.

For his piece, “Sirens of the Lambs,” Banksy put tens of animatronic farm animals inside of a slaughterhouse truck to bleat and squeal through the streets of the Meatpacking District, then around the city for the next two weeks.

The comically horrific truck slaps us in the face with its commentary on the meat industry by combining the only two notions we have of animals nowadays: the unrealistically adorable Disneyfied stuffed animal, and the unrealistically commodified meat animal. Despite its not being sprayed on a wall, the work is just how we like our good ol’ Banksy: equal parts alarming and hilarious.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go truck-spotting.

Video taken from, where you can follow his other city exploits.
